Amanda Michaelis

Cello Principal

I began playing the cello when I was 6 years old. When I was 11 I started studying with Dr. Roger Drinkall, then professor of cello at BYU. I earned a BMA at BYU-Idaho while studying with Dr. James McWhorter and then Dr. Robert Tueller. I have been teaching for over 20 years and have experience working with young 4 yr olds to young at heart 73 yr olds. I have completed the Suzuki Teacher Training for Books 1-6. I have been a member of several ensembles and am currently a member of the Roper Sisters Quartet and the Utah Valley Symphony.
