Robert Ness

Trumpet Principal (Saturday)

was born and raised in Montana, where he had his first musical experiences in junior high school band and choir. He continued his musical journey in high school in Iowa. After graduation, he returned to the west for his collegiate education. He received an Associate of Arts degree from Ricks College and a Bachelor of Music degree in both instrumental and vocal music from the University of Idaho. He later did graduate work in Music Education at Brigham Young University. He participated in several performance ensembles that engaged in national and international tours. Robert Ness was a founding member of the Ricks College Faculty Brass Quintet while serving as trumpet instructor there. As a band and orchestra teacher, he regularly performed in local music organizations such as the Crestmark Big Band, Crestmark Civil War Replica Brass Band, and the Bridgerland Brass Quintet, in Cache Valley. In Utah Valley, he has performed with the Utah Premier Brass and is currently performing with the Utah Valley Symphony and the Utah Millennial Choirs and Orchestra.
