Elisabeth Hodson

Violin II Principal

was born and raised in Salem, UT. She is the oldest of four children and began taking violin lessons with her mom at the age of 5. Throughout her youth she enjoyed taking private lessons, competing annually in the Utah Valley String Festival, and playing with many local orchestras. For all 4 years of high school, she played and toured with the American Heritage Lyceum Philharmonic. After graduating from Salem Hills High School in 2016, she attended BYU-Idaho on a violin scholarship and played with their Symphony and chamber groups. She majored in nursing and graduated with her bachelor's degree in 2020. While at BYU-I, Elisabeth met her now husband Tyler. Together they have three daughters, aged 3, 2, and 1. She currently works as a registered nurse at Utah Valley Hospital, teaches private violin and piano lessons, and enjoys homemaking, hiking with her family, and making music as often as possible!
