
Jeanice Woodbry
Soprano
is equally comfortable on stage and in the teaching studio, maintaining a thriving private studio and performing in a variety of venues for more than thirty years. She worked as a principal performer with the Utah Lyric Opera Society for ten years; she also sang lead roles in The Music Man and Brigadoon, as well as performing at Sundance under the direction of Buddy Youngreen. She has performed as the soprano soloist for Handel’s Messiah for many years, with multiple organizations.
Ms. Woodbrey’s professional training began at Utah State University as a student of classical vocal performance and pedagogy. She continues her professional development, having received additional training and certification at a number of vocal conferences, including the Richard Miller workshop at
BYU, the NATS National convention in SLC, Utah, Opera and Musical Theatre in the 21 st Century in Manhattan, NY, certification at the CCM Institute at Shenandoah University in VA, Performance Voice Conference, University of Utah Voice Disorders Center in 2019, and most recently completing the
Acoustic Vocal Pedagogy Workshop at the University of Michigan in 2023.
Ms. Woodbrey served as VP of Events and VP of Adjudications, as well as a board member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) from 2005-2015 in the Central Utah chapter. Her students regularly place as finalists in the yearly NATS adjudications at BYU. She currently works as an adjunct voice teacher in the Music department at Brigham Young University and continues to maintain her private studio. She finds joy in seeing her students accomplish meaningful goals, and great satisfaction in seeing music positively shape young minds and hearts.
